GEORGIA ON MY MIND….

It has been noticed that a recent change has been made to the controversial monument at Elbert County, Elberton, Georgia, commonly known as the ‘Georgia Guidestones’.

WIKIPEDIA

This small, but noticeable change appears to have caused a bit of a panic among some within the Alternative Media and Conspiracy forums, who have seen it as a warning that the inscribed guidelines on the stones are about to become a reality – and life as we know it, is about to come to an abrupt end.

The monument has been the target of vandals since it’s construction in March 1980, including an attempt in 2009 to topple the English language guidestone, by cutting a large notch near the support pin which attaches it to the capstone above.

The stones are also heavily covered in graffiti, most of it obscene in nature.

Some messages denounce the New World Order, some are written in code, some mock and insult politicians and a few even predict the fiery sword of God’s justice striking down those who built the monument.

As a result of this, Elberton county monument volunteers have become, over the last thirty years, expert at removing the spray paint and ink regularly left by disgruntled and angry visitors.

Even the Chicken blood, which is regularly smeared on the stones, is relatively easy to clean from the granite and will eventually vanish on its own.

The polyurethane that has been splattered across the English and Swahilli language faces is more difficult to remove however, often requiring intensive work with hammers and chisels to clean effectively.

Volunteer Mark Clamp during an interview in 2009, said:

More problematic than the paint or polyurethane is the damage done to the marker stone during obvious attempts to dig up the time capsule that is alleged to be underneath it. The marker stone has been chipped away on its west side and a small part of the northwest corner has been broken off. The most severe damage of all is a large notch recently cut into the English language guidestone near the stainless steel pin securing that Guidestone to the capstone. It appears that the damage was made over the course of about a year in an ongoing effort to topple that Guidestone.”

It is this notch that has become the focus of much speculation among some people on the Internet over the last few days, but are they overreacting and could there be a perfectly simple explanation ?

Is it at all possible that the monument had become dangerously unstable recently, so an effective repair had become a matter of urgency ?

I suggest this because Master Craftsmen, such as Carpenters and Stonemasons, almost always mark any repairs carried out by them with a initial or sometimes the date or year, so could the recent, albeit covert addition of a single piece of granite, marked with the numbers ‘2014’ simply be marking the year when the repair was completed – or does it really signify something more sinister as has been alleged ?

I guess you will have to wait and see….

  1. I’M SURPRISED TO READ THAT THERE ARE “VOLUNTEERS” MAINTAINING THIS STONE. I SHALL HAVE TO SEE WHAT I CAN FIND. MEANWHILE:-

AND LET’S NOT FORGET THAT THIS MUST HAVE HAPPENED TO BRITISH TROOPS AS WELL. I WONDER HOW MANY OF THEM WERE STILL “MISSING” YEARS LATER?:-

“During the Korean War (1950-1953), literally thousands of Americans – mostly Army, Air Force and Marines – were “written off” by the powers-that-be in Washington and abandoned to a horrible fate.”

    TOO FUNNY TO IGNORE!:-

INTERESTING POINT: THE BIZARRE EUROPEAN WEATHER OF 1783 RESULTED IN THE LIGHTNING STRIKE THAT KILLED THE ILLUMINATI MESSENGER IN BAVARIA. THE BAVARIAN POLICE DISCOVERED THE MANUSCRIPTS OF THEIR PLANS IN THE RIDER’S POSSESSIONS AND THE CONSPIRACY BECAME KNOWN, BUT TOO LATE TO STOP THE FRENCH “REVOLUTION”.:-

“The Ukraine crisis – and China’s rare earths industrial consolidation and reform – has given Russia an unprecedented incentive to develop a rare earths mining industry, which, in addition to its hydrocarbons, would give it further huge bargaining power on the world economy. It does not have the know-how, technology, refining plants yet but China can offer these. Rare earths are essential to the production of directed energy weapons: absolutely innovative systems that, instead of hitting a target with a bullet, invade it with electromagnetic radiation, plasma or high energy laser beams. They are weapons of power, precision and speed, offering much lower operating costs than conventional weapons. – See more at:

    1. It is my understanding that the guide stones are a macabre ‘Tourist Attraction’ with thousands of curious visitors a year OG. Nowt accounting for taste Eh?

  2. So – we are now supposed to believe that under cover of darkness, a cheap looking block has been added to a slot on an already puzzling group of pointless granite rocks?

And we are also supposed to fear the enigmatic builders and refer only to them in whispered tones as the ‘Elite?’

The whole thing looks like a primary school project made out of grey polystyrene – and covered with childlike and idiotic ‘guidelines’.

A bogey-man of a folly designed to play on the fears of the mentally impaired and encourage the ever eager and supposedly ‘enlightened truthers’ to weave endless conspiracies around.

Anyone who takes it seriously is way beyond any human help.

As for your take on this recent ‘event’ Outlaw?

It’s probably not that far off the mark 🙂

    1. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO ERECT A MONUMENT SUCH AS THIS?

IN THIS CASE DON’T “FOLLOW THE MONEY”, THINK ABOUT WHY SOMEONE WOULD PAY OUT THE OBVIOUSLY ENORMOUS SUM FOR, NOT ONLY THE STONES THEMSELVES, BUT AN ACCURATE CARVING OF THE TEXT IN SO MANY LANGUAGES.

      I’LL GIVE YOU A CLUE – IT AIN’T CHEAP.

WHATEVER THESE STONES ARE. THEY ARE MOST DEFINITELY NOT A JOKE OR A HOAX.

      1. It was estimated to cost $225,000 when it was built in 1980.

A big sum I grant you, but well within the reach of many organisations, ‘charitable’ or otherwise and any number of private citizens I should imagine.

        An eccentric perhaps?

A wealthy philanthropist with a dark sense of humour?

A billionaire arms dealer with a conscience?

        Who knows?

How many Billions were squandered or filtered off by the ‘Star Wars’ project, for example?

        Or the Space Programme?

        Or the Nuclear Programme?

With the sort of budgets available to any number of Government departments, a quarter of a million dollars going walkabout, would hardly be noticed. 🙂

  3. Doesn’t hurt for these little stirrings to regurgitate year after year though, especially for a small town that needs an alternative income 😉

      1. 225 grand,eh?. So you saw the bill then!.

Now seriously, this all took place long before the net in it’s present form, with dozens of net investigators ready to start searching out the truth from all kinds of obscure sources.
It’s quite possible that this wasn’t the true cost, but it’s also quite possible that all those involved are now dead or senile,or still prevented from saying anything because of their freemasonic oaths and THAT could well be the reason that this place was chosen for such a structure.
Also, don’t forget that this was built back in the day when only a few “in the know” people knew how the world really runs and they were keen to keep that info to themselves.
In those days people still believed the governments and the MSM.

        1. Anything is possible OG, I fully agree with that..

That is why I have not stated in the article that the guidelines are not ‘set in stone’ and are open to interpretation 🙂

  4. JIMSTONE GAVE THIS LINK TODAY (22-09-14):-

    PHILOSOPHERS STONE

    WHICH HAS THIS:-

“Elbert County is also the home to thousands of stoneworkers: explosive experts, stone cutters, sand blasters and heavy equipment operators specializing in handling huge blocks of granite. Almost exclusively male, these stoneworking men combine to form the backbone of the Elbert County economy. For the most part, these men are the hardworking, salt of the earth types that have come to symbolize classic Americana. But it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Elbert County is also home to a thriving community of Freemasons. After all, at least one major branch of modern Masonry got its start among the stonemasons of England, Scotland and Ireland in the late 16th Century.”

AND NOW – WHAT YOUR CAT AND DOG ARE REALLY THINKING:-

    1. This has some interesting theories of who R.C Christian who strolled into town and commissioned it may have really been.

They also say here it cost $225,000 to build.

      VANSHARDWARE.COM

      1. Aye that was the site where the quote from the monument volunteer came from. 🙂

It also mentioned that there was a coded message within the guidelines that somebody worked out as being the year 2010….

And R.C. Christian could have been Ted Turner.

        The mystery continues.

  5. i think humour is good way to deal with this. Every now and then someone fucks up. Reminds us that maybe we should do our own thinking and not follow thru someone elses fuck up..

  6. Interesting. So are they saying the notch was cut out by the person trying to sabotage the stone over a period of a year?

And the masons filled it and marked the date?

I can see them doing repairs and having a date on them if it was a facing or decorative stone, but not really on a little niche and repair such as that.

In addition, I don’t think they would leave it so as it could be worked on again so easily with a view to toppling it.

Not that it would go over anyway, given the compressive strength of granite.

    1. Again, having only the words of one monument volunteer to go on, it is open to interpretation as is almost everything regarding the guidestones.

If he was a stone mason himself, he would have been aware if the notch had been professionally cut and not simply ‘vandalised’, so it is a grey area I agree.

There is also the question of would a vandal even know about the compression strength of granite, or know it could not be toppled that way?

However, I have seen examples of stone and wood repairs and restorations, where the craftsman ‘signed’ the repair on the reverse, or even inside where it would never be seen unless removed.

More of a personal thing, or a case where any additional markings would look out of place.

Maybe the whole thing was designed to keep people guessing and speculating on it’s purpose and ‘Mr Christian’ had a good laugh about all the controversy he had caused.

We may never really discover it’s real purpose, like the riddle of the Pyramids, or the Sphinx, or Stonehenge or the Easter Island carvings.

Or we may find the answer when the time is right. 🙂

      1. Yeah..I know what you are saying. I would not take anything like those stones as gospel, but I think it could be someone’s generalised objective.

I don’t even really think they could orchestrate any kind of catastrophe with well timed precision, especially when it comes to worldwide decimation of the population. However, I do feel there is a real big likelihood of this lot ballsing up their game of bluff and it leading to a massive and irreversible conflict. The only question in my mind, is whether they would do it on purpose, and then make it look like it was an accident anyway.

  7. CHRIS SPIVEY HAS ALREADY NAILED THIS YOU MUG. WHY DONT U GO TO HIS SITE AND LEARN SOMETHING FROM A REAL INVESTERGATOR

    1. If you got hold of a dictionary Leo, you would be quite formidable 🙂

      1. Oh excellent JJ 🙂

    2. What a pathetic specimen of humanity you are Leo, here’s hoping you aren’t one of the 500,000 to survive.

    3. Leo, Why don’t you ? Byyeeee!

  8. Looking at pictures of the Guidestones over the years it appears that the stone was put up with a careful groove cut into the corner of the English/Spanish Stone – so :-

    1) Why this stone and not say the Chinese one ? Maybe because there are more ‘Alternative’ sites in English than Chinese ?
    2) If the square notch was cut out in 2009, why that year, 30 years after the stones were erected?
3)Then who did the cutting out ?, if it was authorised by the stones owners then not too difficult to do with a diamond cutter in one go (but pretty obvious as the stones are 20ft high, so not something done surreptitiously with a ladder), but if it was done gradually that implies that it was ‘unauthorised’, if it was unauthorised then surely the monuments caretakers would just be able to look on their CCTV to see who was responsible ?
    4) Same with the insertion of the new block ! If it was just a general repair, then why wait 5 years on from the ‘damage’ to do it (you can’t tell me that it takes 5 years to carve a miniscule square 🙂 ) and if it was a repair, then why does it not fit the square hole more accurately ?

I think it is an elaborate game, which is keeping some people very amused, and others both alarmed and distracted. More pawns being pushed around the global chess board ! Light blue touch paper and stand well back 🙂

    1. All very good points Sophie, and your suggestion of it being thirty year + game to keep the Conspiracists happy is absolutely worthy of further investigation 🙂

  9. There was going to be a 30 year celebration in 2010 but the stones were vandalised, so it never happened, maybe that’s when the stone was going to be put into place? Like everywhere else, Elbert has been hit hard by recession, according to some news articles I was reading yesterday, it has had to rely on volunteers to do lots of things, so maybe the stones weren’t seen as priority, especially as the woman who kept the donations rolling in for it’s upkeep had died by then?

I also read that they installed CCTV because of all the vandalism, but when the big damage was done, the cameras weren’t switched on. Not uncommon is it?

The old boy who is keeper of the secret also says himself in various interviews that if people knew who commissioned it, the mystery would be over and no one would bother to visit it any more, which implies it’s not that exciting anyway and that in a small town, drawing tourists keeps things ticking along.

Sounds like he has also enjoyed the attention it has brought his way as well as to the town for over 30 years.

I’m sure someone will eventually find out the facts instead of just making it up to get blog hits (which when you look at the history of the vandalism on it, seems to fill the ‘alternative media’ with glee, another easy regurgitated story for dramatic effect that helps to fill a page) and that we’ll all be chuckling at the ridiculousness of it in the new year when we’re all still alive and the stones will still continue to be the source of far fetched fanciful rumour and mystery for as long as it stands.

Such stories keep the old donation buttons busy though I expect. 😉

    1. The “old boy” you refer too just HAS to be a freemason, and is consequently required to say this kind of thing.

My take is that this monument and what it states about keeping humanity under 500,000,000 is deadly serious.

It was probably erected as a kind of “give our NWO fellows a warm and fuzzy feeling about themselves” thing,and/or a message to we serfs and peasants that would be so unbelievable that said serfs and peasants would simply not believe it.

I doubt that, in 1980, they predicted the rise of the net as we know it today. It would be very interesting to know what appeared in the U.S. print media in those days, if anything did

      1. Whatever it’s original intention, I cannot believe that it could have predicted how many people would have become ‘aware’ in the future and some at least would have resisted.

  10. Freemasons, their intentions are never pure. Not in my experience anyway. The panic stuff about us all dying in a couple of months is bad am dram I think.

Think the ‘Old boy’ was the Banker Wyatt OG. Couldn’t remember his name and did have time to check. The Banker Wyatt and also the caretaker seem to have enjoyed the attention it’s brought to them over the years.

A lot is also made of the astrological references and exacting calculations to track the sun and stars, but in another article I read, a professional astronomer had been taken there to test it’s accuracy and said it was very basic and not greatly accurate & was something anyone could knock up with a slab of concrete in their own gardens.
This (from the link below) was also interesting, & also includes 2 photos from 1980 of masons working on the construction of it:

“Visitors kept coming, but after several failed investigations into the identity of R. C. Christian, the media lost interest. Curiosity flared again briefly in 1993, when Yoko Ono contributed a track called “Georgia Stone” to a tribute album for avant-garde composer John Cage, with Ono chanting the 10th and final guide nearly verbatim: “Be not a cancer on Earth—leave room for nature—leave room for nature.” A decade later, however, when comedienne Roseanne Barr tried to work a bit on the Guidestones into her comeback tour, nobody seemed to care.”

Just a little amusing add for J – there is also an Activist Mark Dice named in the link below, he sometimes used the pseudonym of John Conner “appropriated from the Terminator franchise’s main character”. Hmmm lot of it about. 😀

    WIRED.COM

    1. I wonder if Dice had a crusty beard and borrowed his mother’s glasses as a disguise Too? 🙂

      1. Let’s hope not, 1 of those is more than enough, although perhaps that’s what the stones mean when they say be not a cancer on the earth, leave room for nature, don’t dodge your train fare by pretending to be asleep when the ticket inspector walks past & the meaning of ‘housebound’ is quite the opposite of going to pub lunches 2 or 3 times a week & leaving the meals and wheels to stack up in the fridge.

        Sausage anyone? 😀

  11. I must say I prefer this version to the Conspiraloons who claimed that the guide stones predicted the end of the world in 2014
